Make in India
The Ambassador of India to the Netherlands, Mr. Rajesh N. Prasad and Toon and Sylvia Laurensse from Dutch Business Partners discussed the possibilities of manufacturing in India while they interacted during the Netherlands India Business Meet held in October 2014.
¨Make in India¨ is one of the most important focal points of the newly formed government in India, which intends to provide a supportive business environment for foreign companies that want to establish a manufacturing base in the country. The talk with the ambassador focused on the need for policies enabling SMEs, since both India and the Netherlands traditionally have a strong base of SME manufacturers.
Mr. Toon Laurensse opinioned that it is these, smaller size, companies that come up with most innovations in the manufacturing sector, e.g. for food production and storage, water management, logistics and cold chain and are looking forward to a smooth set-up and supportive environment.
